MEET YOUR ADVISOR

About Cynthia

From Corporate to Real Estate.

Real estate was not my original career choice. While I was in university, I worked part time for the bank and moved up the ranks to Manager of Customer Service at a young age. I felt like I had hit the jackpot and thought my career path was set. I told myself that one day I would become the CEO of the bank, and I just needed to work hard and get experience under my belt.

After graduating, I applied for full time roles and was hired by one of the top telecommunications companies in Canada. The role and industry were completely outside my comfort zone. My dream of becoming a CEO did not disappear. Instead of defining which industry I would lead, I decided I was going to become the CEO of something, someday.

I excelled in my roles and worked hard to stay on top of my game. I learned a great deal and picked up skills I still use today, mentored by some of the brightest people I have worked with. When our offices relocated to downtown Toronto, life felt full: taking the train to Union Station, after work socials, and the energy of being in your twenties in the city.

THE TURNING POINT

Discovering Real Estate

In 2009, my husband, then boyfriend, and I began thinking about buying our first home together. The real estate industry caught my interest, and I decided to get licensed so we could buy that first home ourselves. I never intended to do anything with the license beyond our own purchase. Over time, family and friends took a chance and hired me. The experience was more rewarding than I had imagined, though balancing two jobs was not easy.

The novelty of downtown life began to fade. I got married and bought a home in the suburbs, and life started to revolve around the GO train schedule. Maintaining a real estate side career while working full time in corporate became harder to sustain. Around this time, I found myself thinking often about how great it felt to help clients find their next home, to play a role in their next chapter, and to help them solve real problems in their living situation. It became clear how much I loved working closely with people.

As exciting as my corporate career was, I knew I wanted to do something that would better the lives of others. I gathered the courage to leave the corporate world and pursue real estate full time. The timing, though frightening, could not have been more right. I was leaving on a high note, and I knew that if I did not make the leap then, I likely never would, especially once I started a family of my own.

"I became the CEO of something better: myself."

WHY I HELP GTA FAMILIES UPSIZE

Becoming the CEO of Myself.

I did not become the CEO of a major corporation. Instead, I became the CEO of something better: myself. I knew I wanted to make a difference in people's lives and contribute to their story. I have been fortunate to follow along on my clients' journeys, from first time buyers to move up buyers, and every step has felt meaningful.

Working with my clients is personal to me. I have a young family of my own, and I understand what growing families go through when they are ready for more space. Home is where memories are made, and there is no better feeling than helping a family find their next one.

Today, I work as a GTA real estate advisor focused on one thing: helping families upsize with ease, from the first conversation to the final walkthrough.
